What's up with Krakow?

It's amazing how inconsistent Krakow can be as they are on the roof of Europe in the Euroleague and qualified for the Final Four but in the same time they have been eliminated from the Polish league play-off by Polkowice. However, it's important not to decrease Polkowice's value since they had a great game and established control thanks to a strong acceleration in the second quarter. Connecticut, on the way to another NCAA Title, were too strong for Florida State who were totally outclassed, unable to find the way to the rim as they averaged only 28.6%. Positive note for Armentieres

Armentieres had a very good win on Toulouse home court in the delayed game of last week and they inflicted on the hosts a strong loss 52-80. After they played quite a competitive first quarter, Armentieres moved away from the hosts at the end of the second one and definitely established control in the second half, being a lot more efficient in their shooting effort, especially at 3pts (21pts for them and only 3pts for Toulouse). Important win of Parma

It was a very important win for Parma as if they had lost the game they could have been in danger but Napoli's loss allowed them to breath. In the Russian play-off series the teams played the quarter-finals match-ups, where Spartak Moscow reg. twice defeated Vologda, Dynamo Kursk whitewashed St.Petersburg, UMMC let no chance in both games to Dynamo Moscow and Orenburg, in their turn, twice celebrated their win over Novosibirsk. Consiquently, Spartak Moscow reg. will meet in the semi-finals with Dynamo Kursk and UMMC will try the ambitions of Orenburg. As for St.Petersburg, Vologda, Novosibirsk and Dynamo Moscow, they will struggle in the semi-finals for the fifth place. So, we'll see...

One half to wake up

Bologna showed two different faces while hosting Cervia as they were totally absent in the first quarter, started to react in the second one and completely smothered their opponent in the second half as they allowed them to score only 14pts in the whole half. Visiting Kvarnby with 196 cm tall German Petra Glaser and Jaqcua Williams, was going to be a tough match up for the Umea Comets. Limoges lose with pride

Alain Jardel will be the new coach of Tarbes next season. The match UMMC vs Spartak Moscow reg. is probably one of the most expected and suspensful as there is a constant high competition between these two giants of the Russian Championship. Amazing Krakow!!!

Krakow weren't supposed to qualify for the Euroleague final four as they weren't supposed to participate to the Euroleague competition but they proved to the European's basketball they really deserved to substitute to CSKA Moscow as they defeated Frisco Sika Brno at home 78-73 and join the ultra-favorite Spartak Moscow Region, Ros Casares Valencia and UMMC Ekaterinburg. It was a very competed game as Brno, as former Euroleague champion, didn't want to miss their second Final Four in the row. But Krakow showed more aggressiveness on defence, stealing many balls and getting easy points to score on fastbreak. After he enjoyed it last season with Salamanca, Jose I.
