Indiana and New York Will Play a Third Match

     
 

Indiana and New York finished the second match of the semi-finals with the win of Indiana, thus the teams will need a third match to determine the leader. Indiana set the tone right at the beginning of the game and just started to lose the rage in the finl quarter when New York stole the initiative. Still, it was too late for New York and they having stolen the initiative, they didn't manage to steal the win.

The Teams Going to EuroBasket 2011

     
 

France, Russia, Spain, Belarus, Greece, Czech Republic and Poland are the teams which have automatically qualified for the EuroBasket Women 2011 Final Round. They will be joined by another eight who were determined during the Qualifying Round. They are:
Group A: Lithuania and Croatia
Group B: Israel and Latvia
Group C: Turkey and Montenegro
Group D: Great Britain and Slovak Republic

Slovakia defeat Germany

     
 

Slovak Republic gained a win over Germany 73 - 67 thanks to a very remarkable performance in the third quarter (23-12) and despite an absolutely non-prolific final period (5-11). Slovakia lost at 2pt-shooting sector but they managed to compensate it with their 3pt-shooting performance as they got 21pts from behind the arc.

Ukraine won but didn't get their ticket

     
 

Ukraine defeated Great Britain 70 - 66 but unfortunately for them, it was not enough to be qualified. Still, this win of Ukraine was very remarkable as after showing a balance performance in the first half, they made an acceleration in the third quarter (21-11) which helped them to secure the win.

Turkey Make a Good Performance

     
 

Turkey defeated Montenegro 72 - 65 in a very tough struggle where the initiative swang from one side to another. Only the result of the second quarter stood out as Turkey managed to gain 8pts more, which helped them to get an advantage and walk away with the win in the end.

Bulgaria Stole the Win in the Overtime

     
 

Finland and Bulgaria finished their meeting with the win of the latter 77 - 83. After suffering a loss in the third quarter when Finland stole the initiative from them by inflicting 19-9, Bulgaria had to react quickly. They managed to gather all their strength and made an effort to impose an overtime which they finished with a great performance 7-13.

Latvia defeat Serbia

     
 

Latvia follow Israel to qualify for the EuroBasket by defeating Serbia 80 - 55. The first half of the match was quite balanced and the teams were just trying out each other but it was Latvia who found the key to Serbia's basket first. They made a terrific acceleration in the second half and just destroyed the opponent already in the third quarter.

They were more efficient at shooting, both 2pt- and 3pt- shots, and also played quite an aggressive game by inflicting 21 turnvers on Romania and stealing 12 balls from them.

Italy won over Netherlands

     
 

Italy got a hard win over Netherlands 68 - 59. All the first half they were unable to make a proper performance in order to resist to the Dutch pressure and went to the locker-room being 13pts behind. But after the break Italians managed to find the way not only to reduce the gap by allowing Netherlands to score only 6pts in the third quarter but also steal the win in the final period.

Croatia defeated Belgium 70 - 85 to get their ticket to the EuroBasket in Poland. The start of the match was very ba,anced and Croatia managed to earn only 2pt-advantage in the first half (1pt per each quarter) but after the break thay made a deserving acceleration and definitely secured the victory. With a very close shooting efficiency at 2pt- and 3pt-shooting, the score outcome depended on the FT performance. Thus, Croatia were terrific with 22 pts got from the FT line (against only 9pts for Belgium).
