All the second half was under control of the guests thanks to their remarkable fight inside the key and a very collective game.

Free throwing by Connecticut

Washington lost on a visit to Conecticut 78 - 88 because of allowing the hosts to lead all the game. Indeed, Connecticut took the initiative from the very beginning and just increased their advantage from quarter to quarter. Even the fact that the hosts scored less shots in the field didn't help Washington to win in this gam as they were smothered at free throwing (23pts for Connecticut against only 12 for Washington).
